Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., CA-25
Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., is an emergency physician and public servant representing California's 25th Congressional District. Raised in Coachella, California by farmworker parents, he pursued his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor through public education, earning three graduate degrees from Harvard University, the first Latino to do so.
Before serving in Congress, Dr. Ruiz worked as an emergency room physician, founded programs to mentor future doctors, expanded healthcare access for underserved communities, and provided medical relief following Haiti's 2010 earthquake. Since his election in 2012, he has continued to champion affordable healthcare, public health, and policies that put patients first while serving on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
